Giorgio Musso (Genova, Italy) is a tenured research fellow in African History and Institutions at the University Roma Tre. He has taught at the Universities of Genova, Perugia, IUSS-Pavia, SciencesPO. His publications have appeared in Italian and international journals. He focuses on the contemporary political history of Sudan and South Sudan, as well as water politics in the Nile valley and migrations in the Mediterranean. Giorgio has also been a Refugee Status Determination officer for the Italian Ministry of Interior and is a volunteer for the international NGO Community of Sant’Egidio, which enriched him with a know-how in the fields of peace-making, interfaith dialogue and humanitarian aid.
