Sophie Hunter is a French law graduate from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, with a previous background in international politics, management and Russian language. She wrote her undergraduate dissertation on the impact of US foreign policy on the rise of terrorism in Iraq and the emergence of the Islamic State. Her experience ranges from charity work — Médecins Sans Frontières and the Center for Criminal Appeals — to interning at the International Commercial Chamber of Paris Court of Appeal. Hunter has a keen interest to specialize at master level in Arctic and polar law. She has lived in Australia, France, Russia and the UK.
