Lee-Roy Chetty is an expert on issues relating to economic and social development on the African continent. He works for a multinational advisory firm consulting for a number of globally listed blue-chip companies, and is currently based in the Johannesburg office of the organization.
He began his career in advertising at Ogilvy Cape Town, working as a digital strategist on some of South Africa's biggest and most loved brands. He holds a Master's degree in Media Studies from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. A two-time recipient of the National Research Fund Scholarship, he is currently completing his PhD at UCT.
Chetty is the author of a book titled, Imagining Web 3.0, and his new book — Africa's Century — will be released in the fall of 2014.
He is also a Contributing Editor (Africa) at Fair Observer.
