Dr Chengxin Pan is a Senior Lecturer in International Relations at Deakin University. He was educated at Peking University and the Australian National University, where he received a PhD degree in Political Science and International Relations. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Melbourne and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is a member of the International Studies Association (ISA) and his research interests include Chinese foreign policy, international relations of Northeast Asia, critical IR theory and US and Australian foreign policy.

His book "Knowledge, Desire and Power in Global Politics: Western Representations of China’s Rise" will be published by Edward Elgar.
