Dr Carool Kersten is a historian of religion and Islamicist. Currently, he is lecturer in the Study of Islam and the Muslim World at King’s College London. He is a specialist in contemporary Islamic thought. Carool is the author of Cosmopolitans and Heretics: New Muslim Intellectuals and the Study of Islam. He also is a former faculty member of the Center for International and Graduate Studies at Payap University in Thailand. Prior to that he spent more than ten years as a human resources manager, intercultural management consultant and translator in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
