I discovered thinking with the writings of Theodor Adorno, and then literature with the teachings of Paul de Man. Jacques Derrida then provided a synthesis of both and an specific elaboration that showed language to be a medium of non-identity and alterity. My experience as a “dramaturg” in productions of Opera and Theater in Germany in the 80s also gave me a different perspective on “interpretation” and its effects.
