Sico van der Meer is a Research Fellow at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’. His research focuses on the (non-)proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction in general, and especially the nuclear programmes of North Korea and Iran. He is also a PhD Candidate at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, inquiring into motivations of states to acquire or forgo nuclear weapons.
