Our Manifesto
It is our core belief that all civilizations have been built on discourse and human beings have always sought to question, wonder and understand the world around them. Fair Observer celebrates this profoundly human impulse to think and engage, and seeks to generate a new global discourse that is valuably inclusive, insightful and inspiring.
We live in a world that is becoming more interconnected and changing faster than ever. Students are increasingly studying and travelling abroad, scientists are collaborating across borders and the power of the Internet has triggered a new era of global communication. Markets are increasingly global for capital, products, services and even talent. Emerging economies are becoming increasingly important players on the world stage. They have new aspirations and present new opportunities for investment, business and trade as well as risks for misunderstanding, economic instability and geopolitical rivalry.
Fair Observer seeks to bring clarity to the complex and dynamic world we live in. Our aim is to provide a platform for voices from different disciplines, various philosophies and many parts of the world. In sum, our goal is to give you a 360° view of the world, with a plurality of perspectives, with diversity and debate, and with the story behind the story. We want you to make sense of the world. We are an American and a German company operating simultaneously out of Washington DC and Munich, but our contributor network and readership base already spans the world.
